A bad sports day

So, yesterday my Steelers, Bucaneers, and Seattle Storm all lost. But at least so did the Seahawks! It was fun to watch the Huskies bear USC on Saturday!

I read today that Jaycee Dugard and her kids got their pets back. I'm really glad they did. I know how much comfort, love, and joy I get from my Pip on a good day. It's hard to imagine everything those kids have been thru, so I know that the animals will be a much needed safe outlet for them.

I guess it's official. According to Google, the Beatles are more popular than Jesus. I also just read an article from England. A couple that owns a hotel are facing criminal charges and have had to put the hotel up for sale. Apparently, a few months ago the owners got into a "heated" discussion with a guest who was wearing a Muslim head dress. According to the allegations, the owners told the patron that Mohammad is a warlord and that the headdress is a form of bondage. I do believe in freedom of religion. But I also admit that I have some prejudices where the Muslim religion is concerned. Or perhaps more accurately, I have some problem with any religion that advocates that infidels must die. I suppose I draw the line at religious freedom if it endangers some one's life. I haven't figured out a way in myself to lessen my feelings of discomfort when the Muslim religion is discussed. I know that there are zealots in any religion. Look at what Hitler did. Or the right to lifers that kill in the name of their God. I know rationally in my head that it's the same thing. But I can't deny that the Muslim religion stirs up a lot more fear in me personally than other religions.
