I think winter is coming

The last few nights have gotten quite chilly. Pip hasn't strayed far from me or the electric blanket. I've noticed that her fur is really thick and soft now. I'm not sure if it's the weather or because she's getting older, but she does seem to stay in a bit more now. Not that I mind!

There are times (more and more unfortunately) where I really just don't understand people. I heard a story on a local news station about a guy who took his 3 pit bulls to an off leash park and allowed the dogs to attack and seriously hurt the other dogs, even after the other owners asked him to get his dogs under control. But he just stood by and watched. This happened twice at least with one dog getting killed and the other getting a broken leg. This is one of those stories that makes me wish that when this guy gets caught that we could set some dogs loose on him and see how he likes it.

So at work recently we had a shift bid. Every six months we have to bid on a new shift. There are 42 options and you have to list your preference from 1 - 42. The bids are handed out based on job performance, and if there is a tie, then the senior person gets the shift. So a woman that I work with always complains that she never gets her first choice, she always gets like her 10th or 15th choice. So this time she decided to try something new. She figured since she never gets her first choice, she would make her first choice the shift she wanted least, and put the shift she really wanted down lower on the list. Well, apparently no one else wanted that particular shift either because when they got to her name, her first choice was still available. So that's what she got. Now she has split days off, like Sunday and Wednesday. She wasn't nearly as amused as I was! I actually like the shift I got. I got 4 10 hour days, with Sun Mon and Tues off.
I'm liking that!
