I just haven't watched as much news the past week or so. Instead I've been enjoying spending time with the Pipster. The other night, I must have snuck in without her knowing. She wasn't home when I went in. I figured she was having kitty fun, so I just settled in and figured she would come home when she was ready. About 30 minutes later, I heard her come thru the window. She came bounding in, heading for the kitchen where her food and water bowls are. I called her name. She stopped on a dime, changed direction and came bounding over to me and gave me all sorts of love. So, yes, she's still finding new ways to make me feel loved!
My friends recently adopted a kitten from NOAH. Lilia was about 9 weeks old when she came home and she's adorable. So I've been enjoying watching her just being a kitten. She does have a quirk though. For some reason, she seems to like sticking her head into human mouths, and or cleaning off their lips. And her favorite place to sleep seems to be right over the heat vents. So she's been quite amusing to watch.
I didn't have time to read about it, but I did notice a story about a charity in New York City that's been around since like 1988. It helps feed the needy in New York City. The board of directors is made up of volunteers. The thing that caught my eye was the fact that the board of directors (volunteer) also pay out of their own pockets ALL administrative costs which include office rent, supplies, website, etc. I just think that's pretty cool since it allows 100% of the donations go directly to the people who need it most. So there's your feel good story for the season!
