Feeling like a proud mama tonight

So, just to remind you of Baby Bug's history, as told to me by the wonderfully great people at NOAH, she was adopted and returned by at least 3 previous owners before I met her. During that time, she was declawed, put on anti-anxiety meds by at least 2 of those other owners. So fast forward to tonight. My apartment complex has smoke alarms in all the apartments. The alarms are wired into the Bothell fire department, so when one of the alarms go off, a fire truck soon arrives. So the alarm goes off tonight, and as always is loud and annoying. Baby Bug did wake up, and was uneasy. Then the fire trucks arrived. Since my windows were open, it was easy to hear them. Baby Bug tried to settle in on me, and did for a while. Now I'm not sure if there was a problem with the alarm or what, but the firemen stayed longer than usual and there was more noise than usual. Then it sounded like someone dropped a large metal pipe out in the parking out. It startled me and Baby Bug. She sat up, and I thought sure she would run into the bedroom, where it's quieter. So imagine my surprise and pride when she went over to the open balcony door, and actually went partway outside to investigate!! She was so brave!! It made my heart so happy! She just keeps finding ways to do that! I thank her previous owners often for giving me the chance to meet this wonderful creature!
