Michael Vick

So Vick has been "conditionally" re-instated to the NFL. A friend of mine, a nonsports fan, said that maybe the NFL should make Vick donate some of his new NFL earnings to an animal shelter. I doubt that the players' union would allow that to happen, but I think for some people it would make the return of Vick a little bit easier to swallow. At least then we would know that him returning to the NFL is helping animals. It's interesting that Pete Rose got a lifetime ban from baseball for gambling, and yet Vick, who caused physical and emotional pain to living creatures is allowed to return to football after less than 3 years. Given the choice, I would allow Rose back in baseball long before I would allow Vick back to football.
