Be honest now. How many of you folks out there remember the old Chicago song "25 or 6 to 4"? Wanna know how long ago that song came out? Would you believe 40 years ago? So how many of you feel old now?
About the same time that that song came out, the public became aware of the Manson family. 1969 was the year of the Tate/Labianca murders. One of the Manson women is coming up for parole for the 19th time. I'm not sure how long the trials lasted, but I would guess that she's been in jail for at least 35 of the past 40 years.
Looking back on my life, it doesn't seem like 40 years have past. Does it feel the same for those in prison during that same length of time? One thing that struck me while reading the article is that this woman hasn't had any displinary actions in her file the whole time she's been in prison. That seems like a long time to survive in prison and not have a documented run in with either a guard or another inmate.
Inetersting that I don't have any stong feelings either way on her parole. But if Charles Manson were up for parole, the thought of him being released into society scares me. I hope he never gets out. But that's just me.
