Since I have a new baby again
And back by popular demand (ok,so only 1 person asked for it!) I'm going to start up my blog again. This post will be dedicated to my new baby. Since she doesn't respond to the name they gave me at the shelter, I'll call her Baby Bug from now on ( a combination of baby girl and snuggle bug).
Here's what I've learned about her so far. She is the most finicky eater I've ever had. Not only does she have tastes she doesn't like, she also seems to prefer a pate texture instead of a chunky or flaked texture in her wet food. She doesn't like turkey, is less than enthusiastic about chicken, and loves beef. She will eat seafood flavored wet food, but then gives it all back to me almost right away. I think if I let her, she would love to chow down on human food. And she is quite persistent trying to check out my food while I'm trying to eat. When she is thirsty, she usually dips a paw into the water bowl first. I'm not sure why.
She feels the need to let me know that she's gone potty, by running out of the bathroom and racing thru the apartment, like a great weight has been lifted off of her. I've seen her potty a few times, and she doesn't seem to have struggle, but she sure feels good when she's done!
She likes to be in small enclosed places, or under the blankets, even if I'm not there. So far the only sign of fear that I've seen is during a very loud thunder storm we had. If she had her way, I think she would b an indoor/outdoor cat since she wandered outside a couple of times already, and seemed fine. She's vocal when she thinks she needs attention, and sometimes seems to jump on me just to make sure I'm still there, then she's gone again.
She loves to sleep on my lap, and usually loves to be held and snuggled. While I'm holding her, she almost always likes her head over the left side of my chest/shoulder. She does give occassional love nips, but only on my nose and only while I'm holding her while I'm going potty.
Even though she's declawed, she loves to use the scratching posts and my sofa to try to sharpen her claws. She loves catnip and treats, and love to play but only in brief spurts. She seems to like to hear me talk to her. A lot of times when she's on my lap and I start talking to her, I can feel her start to purr.
So that's my Baby Bug, and I'm very happy she's here!
