So, I didn't have to report for jury duty. The first time I'm called, and I didn't even have to report!
I'm still having a hard time with the Vick issue. I 'm still not convinced that he's remorseful over what he did. I think he's just sorry he got busted! But I'm definitely not having a problem being tired of hearing about Brett Favre. Retire already!!
I read a story online about some elephants in India that had lost a leg to land mines. One was a 48 yr old elephant, the other was 3 yrs old. Both have now received prosthetic legs. At least someone knows how to care for animals in a humane way! The elephants have become good friends now.
Here's a news item I ran across: Men living on the Fijian Island of Bua have been ordered to wear skirts on Sundays to avoid offending God and bring good luck to the tiny island.
The local Methodist Church ruled that men must wear the traditional sarong on Sundays to respect the significance of the holy day. I have no problem with men wearing pants or sarongs. It just seems like there are a lot more pressing issues facing God these days than wardrobe issues. Wouldn't it be more logical that God would be offended by war, famine, cruelty, poverty than by men wearing pants on Sunday? But, I would definitely prefer people wearing sarongs in the name of God than killing infidels in the name of God!
