First, congrats to the Packers. I wish the Steelers would have won, but the Pack just played better and deserved to win. Maybe next year for my Steelers.
I'm confused, and perhaps a little angry and saddened tonight. I just read an article that stated that Michael Vick (yes, THAT Michael Vick) was given the key to the city of Dallas. Why? According to the man that bestowed this honor on Vick Dwayne Carroway: "He is telling kids and exchanging with them the rights and wrongs of the things that he did and encouraging kids to further their education and to not deal with the drugs. To obey their parents and pick the people they hang around...........In the eyes of many people, he's a hero."
A hero? Really? There's a lot of words that come to mind for me when I hear Vick's name. But never did the word hero come to mind. Trying to think of Vick as a hero, my mind can't even go there. When looking for heroes in today's society, this man is the best we can come up with?
For me, all the Vick dogs who have been able to heal and forgive and allow themselves to love and be loved by other humans, those dogs are the real heroes that we can all learn from.
