A good Sunday morning
Watching my Tampa Bay Bucs on the NFL network and have Baby Bug napping on my lap. Right here, right now, my life is good. I'm trying to recognize these moments and to appreciate them more often.
I bought kitty steps for Baby Bug and put them out on my balcony. They stand 3-4 feet high. She went right to it and went right to the top step and settled in to watch the world go by. So I'm feeling more comfortable with her going out on the balcony, although there is still a small part of me that worries. But she seems so happy to be able to out and lay in the sun. Although, I think today she was conflicted. I saw her out on the top step, but instead of watching the world, she was looking inside towards me, like she wanted to be outside, but she also wanted to be with me. So I went outside and spent some time out there with her. She's pretty sweet!
I read about an all Jewish private school in Brooklyn who banned its students from using Facebook, even outside of school because Facebook is "immodest". The article said that 3 high school students were fined $100 for using Facebook outside of school. I guess I have a couple of issues with this. I understand not allowing the students to use Facebook at school. But at home? Shouldn't that decision be made by the parents? The other question I have is how did the school find out the kids were using Facebook? Were they somehow monitoring the kids online usage outside of school? The article didn't say, so I don't know.
And under the heading "WHY?", a school in Australia banned high fives, and hugs in basketball football and basketball. Students caught doing these things will be punished with counseling sessions. And what will the students be taught in these counseling sessions? To not show excitement or happiness when something good happens?
